Emily Greso, Clinical Social Work Associate

they/them

Professional

Emily holds a Master of Social Work degree from Pacific University, with a bachelor’s degree in social work from Portland State University. Their previous experience includes:

  • Mental health therapist (intern) in a school setting with youth ages 11-14 in individual and group capacities

  • Direct support professional serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline providing brief, phone-based interventions for youth and adults across all levels of crisis

Emily works with youth ages 11-17, who are constantly experiencing unfamiliar situations and emotions. It can be confusing to sort through which emotions are common at each stage of growing up, and which emotions may be associated with underlying mental health challenges. Anxiety, depression, and social and behavioral challenges are common. Emily is here to support youth as they learn how to navigate adolescence, build inner resources for wellbeing, and manage what is within their control- all of which are critical elements of therapy for youth.

Emily offers in-person sessions; they have experience with depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and LGBTQ+ affirming care, across all developmental stages. Their style of practice draws from evidence-based therapy modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT) to facilitate skill-building and self-regulation. Their work is person-centered and strengths-based, in order to fulfill their belief that every youth is fundamentally deserving of secure attachments with safe and supportive adults.

Personal

Emily grew up in the foothills of North Cascades National Park, and enjoys gentle/mindful time among trees and flowing water. They spend their time learning new skills, volunteering with various local LGBTQ+ affirming organizations, playing Legend of Zelda with their cats, and participating in recreational sports.

As an Associate, Emily participates in all of our Accepted Insurance Plans and sees clients as openings occur.
