Hanh Nguyen, Graduate Student Intern
she/her
As a woman of color and first-generation Vietnamese American, I understand the importance of being fully seen, heard, and supported in therapy. I bring a warm, curious, and candid presence, rooted in trust and compassion. My approach is person-centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed. I draw on evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing to tailor sessions to your needs.
I work with individuals navigating:
Anxiety and depression
Grief and loss
Traumatic Recovery
Women’s Issues and Empowerment
BIPOC Issues
Currently, I’m a graduate student intern at Northwestern University, pursuing my Master degree in counseling. I’m passionate about collaborative, anti-oppressive work with people navigating trauma, dysfunctional family dynamics, racial and cultural identity, and major life changes. These challenges may show up as overthinking, boundary struggles, stress, or difficulty in relationships. Together, we’ll team up to help you feel more grounded, confident, and fulfilled.
As a WOC who grew up in Oakland, California and moved to Portland, Oregon as a teenager, I value being seen by a therapist who “gets it.” I am especially committed to supporting folks from marginalized communities, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, first- and second-generation immigrants, and neurodivergent clients. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I strive to provide care that reflects and respects the complexities of your intersecting identities.
My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your inner world, process intergenerational and systemic challenges, and build resilience. Healing, for me, is not just individual but collective — I hope to be a companion in your care, offering empathy, honesty, and compassion as you move toward living authentically.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy analyzing horror films, visiting new coffee shops, and reading comic books.
As a Student Intern, Hanh accepts OHP through Health Share/Care Oregon or Self-Pay on a reduced-rate sliding scale ($10 to $50 per session) and sees clients as openings occur.
