Professional Life

I am a graduate student earning my Master of Arts in Counseling with Northwestern University. In 2022, I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Major in Sociology, and a Minor in Applied Psychology. My background in sociology has helped me better understand the complexities surrounding intersectionality and how it affects our thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. I hope to help clients:

  • Build a strong therapeutic alliance to foster growth in relationships

  • Work through past traumas to heal the mind-body connection

  • Use mindfulness and grounding techniques to connect with the body

  • Identify inner strengths to empower and improve one’s self-esteem

I believe that human beings drive connection, and connection drives us to better understand ourselves. I love how counseling offers everyone a safe space to explore themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. I want to help my clients develop, grow, and become the best version of themselves possible.

I believe each individual is unique, and should be treated as such. I work to value the client’s strengths and weaknesses, while acknowledging the importance of each individual’s identity throughout the therapy process. As part of my supervision, I am receiving training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also utilize a psychodynamic lens which I have learned through my university training.

I treat the following:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Grief and Loss

  • Women’s Issues

  • Traumatic Recovery

Personal Life

I was born in California and moved to Portland in July of 2022 after completing my undergraduate education. I love sharing my life with my partner and our two cats: Triss and Yennefer. When I am not working toward my master degree, you can find me:

  • Jamming out to music

  • Watching reality TV

  • Playing psychological horror games

  • Listening to a true crime podcast

  • Hanging out with her best friends

  • Going for long drives to explore Portland’s scenery

As a Student Intern, Nicole accepts OHP through Health Share/Care Oregon or Self-Pay on a reduced-rate sliding scale ($10 to $50 per session) and sees clients as openings occur.
