Slade earned his master of social work degree at University of Washington in 2000. He has worked in a variety of settings as a clinical social worker:
Doing drug and alcohol counseling at methadone clinics.
Providing psychotherapy at a community based mental health clinic.
Program lead at Clackamas County Mental Health in a program for young adults who had developed schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder or other severe and persistent mental illnesses and who were also struggling with drug dependency.
Coordinator for a program at Oregon City High School for students with social and emotional needs.
Co-owner of Men’s Resource Center, which focused on providing domestic violence Intervention groups for men.

Personal Life
Born and raised in Sandy, OR, Slade graduated from Sandy Union High School. He attended University of Washington and lived in a few places in his young adulthood: Seattle, Utah, and Detroit. He quickly realized that it was hard to beat the beauty of Oregon (despite all the rain) and moved back home. He has lived and worked in Oregon City since 2000.
Slade loves doing therapy. Beyond that he has many interests and hobbies including:
Skiing
Backpacking and hiking
Playing pickleball
Improving my house and yard
Camping
Zymurgy
Photography—the landscape & nature photos on this website and in our building were (mostly) taken by him
Traveling, including snorkeling when I can!
