Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy
Exposure Therapy is a specific form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy used to treat a wide range of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, and the whole range of phobias. Evidence from research demonstrates, repeatedly, that it is one of the most effective forms of therapy available.
It is quick–but not easy. While significant results can be had in 6 - 20 sessions you have to be ready to work hard. You will be asked to lean into your most significant fears—but with purpose and a plan—which will help you no longer avoid these anxiety provoking experiences. It will require courage on your part, as well as daily home practice. The reward is a fuller, more meaningful life–where you’re in charge and not your anxiety.
If you’re ready— we have clinicians who are trained and ready to help you: Megan Nieto, Megan Dobbs, and Heather Blasi.
If you’re not sure if you’re ready for that level of work yet, all of our clinicians can use Motivational Interviewing to help you decide whether it is right for you and to get ready for it.
