Hi! I’m J (yep, just the letter) and I am here to help you with any questions you have about billing, insurance, updating your chart, or finding the right fit.

Professional

I earned my Master degree in Special Education, with a focus on Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), at Portland State University in 2011. I worked as a Case Manager, Behavior Specialist, and Math Teacher for 16 years at Floyd Light Middle School before joining Oregon City Counseling. Prior to teaching, I provided support to children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings:

• Head Secretary at Four Corners Therapeutic School (Reynolds SD partnering with Morrison Child & Family Services)

• Administrative Assistant and Special Education Coordinator at Wynne Watts School (Multnomah ESD partnering with Albertina Kerr Centers)

• Motor Vehicle Accident and Past-Due Account Specialist at the Radiology Group

• Facilities Coordinator Assistant at Western Oregon University

• Case Manager Assistant at the Private Industry Council

Personal Life

Born in Portland, OR, I was raised mostly in the metro area. I have also lived in southern California (once as a child, and again as an adult). I love living in the Pacific Northwest and I enjoy the following hobbies: 

• Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and swimming in rivers

• Hiking in the gorge and at the coast

• Functional Fitness: gymnastics, weights, yoga, mobility, cardio, parkour, etc.

• Reading sci fi, fantasy, and historical fiction

• Home improvement & landscaping projects

• Treasure hunting at thrift stores, garage sales, or the Saturday Market

• Creating costumes for school dress-up days, parties, and holidays

• Board games, card games, and puzzles
