Shawna Parsley, Professional Counselor Associate

Professional Life

As humans we are emotional and relational beings influenced by connection. I aim to provide a space that embraces emotions and uncomfortable experiences, encourages curiosity, and explores how your connection to yourself, your relationships, environment, community, and society influences anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and/or self-identity. We will view these experiences as protective and purposeful parts of you and work together to understand how those parts have served you. I provide individual counseling for adults and adolescents experiencing a range of concerns including anxiety, relationship stressors, and trauma.

I focus on understanding the whole person including health, supports, environment, identities, and culture and integrate relational-cultural, attachment, and psychodynamic theories, as well as emotionally focused therapy (EFIT), internal family systems (IFS), CBT, DBT, and ACT. I am currently a registered associate receiving ongoing supervision.

Personal Life

The counseling relationship is professional, but we connect as humans first.

My personal interests outside of the counseling space include hiking, kayaking, reading, live music, deep talks, and laughing as much as possible.

I identify as a white (Italian and English), American, able-bodied, non-religious, childfree by choice, heterosexual, cisgender woman.

As an Associate, Shawna participates in all of our Accepted Insurance Plans and sees clients as openings occur.
