Professional Life

I am a graduate student earning my Master of Arts in Counseling with Northwestern University. In 2022, I graduated from the University of Virginia with a double major in Psychology and Women, Gender and Sexuality studies, concentrating in Sexuality Studies. My background in gender and sexuality, as well as my own identity as a queer woman, has made me especially passionate about working with clients who feel impacted by normative ideas about sex, sexuality, and gender. My goal is to create a safe and affirming therapeutic alliance, where clients can feel supported in:

  • Negotiating interpersonal relationships with equity, authenticity, and self-advocacy

  • Healing the mind, body, and mind-body connection after trauma

  • Navigating societal power structures and experiences of oppression with agency and empowerment

  • Identity formation and integration, including LGBTQ2SIA+ identities and survivorship

I value transparency and collaboration in the counseling relationship, taking an egalitarian, strengths-based, and person-centered approach. As part of my supervision at Oregon City Counseling, I am receiving training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I treats the following therapeutic concerns:

  • Anxiety / Depression

  • Grief and Loss

  • Life Transitions

  • Relationship Concerns

  • Trauma

  • Women’s Issues

  • LGBTQIA2S+ Issues

Personal Life

I was born in the state of Virginia and moved to Portland in 2023 after completing my undergraduate education.

I am grateful to share my life with my partner and our two cats. When I’m not working towards my degree, I am probably:

  • Learning a new craft or practicing an old one

    •  I sew, embroider, and make jewelry

    • I have dabbled in lots of other arts and crafts!

  • Reading feminist non-fiction, philosophy, or spooky short stories

  • Playing video games

    • The Fallout series is my all-time favorite

    • I also loves Skyrim, Hitman 3, Stardew Valley, and The Sims 4

  • Doing a Wikipedia deep dive on social sciences or nature

  • Taking walks through the forests around Portland

  • Re-watching a favorite TV show or movie

As a Student Intern, Sibylle accepts OHP through Health Share/Care Oregon or Self-Pay on a reduced-rate sliding scale ($10 to $50 per session) and sees clients as openings occur.
