Therapeutic Approach

Oregon City Counseling uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a foundation for its individual work.  It is where scientific rigor meets the healing care of therapy. Having been researched since the 1960s, it has decades of evidence demonstrating it to be an effective form of psychotherapy.

While being extensively trained in CBT, our providers are also equipped to tailor individual treatment plans to the client and will work together with you to decide which treatment is best. We utilize a number of evidence-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and depression, Behavioral Couples Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
